Things you should know and be prepared
15 questions your local industry leader fence companies wish you never ask them.
The answers to some of these questions are the trade secrets and we can not share publicly, but we will tell you everything you need to know and to ask during your estimates with other companies or contractors. This will help you to choose the right company.
Why Choose Vinyl?
You may already know that not all vinyl is made in the same way and that's true. There are cheaper grade vinyl being imported and it may look the same, but there is a big difference and it depends on how it was extruded. Our vinyl is made in the USA and it's the highest quality virgin vinyl for outdoor building projects. Our manufacturer, engineered and designed the profiles we use to withstand harsh weather conditions, and are tested in winds up to 130 mph. They carefully mix the necessary ingredients including UV stabilizers that will make your fence look brand new for a lifetime. We do offer several colors of vinyl if you like your fence to stand out from the rest and from traditional white fencing.
The base ingredient is rigid PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) homopolymerize compound with a high level of titanium dioxide <TiO2> pigment for long term, ultraviolet <UV> light resistance and impact modifiers for superior strength. The formulation is similar to that of vinyl siding and windows, which are known for a long history of providing long-term durability and structural integrity.
Do vinyl fence expand or become brittle in cold or hot weather?
It is normal for vinyl materials to expand and contract during temperature changes. Our designs and fabrication methods will allow for expansion and contraction during the installation process. As with most PVC products, vinyl will become less flexible in colder weather conditions. However, unless subjected to unusual impact, it can break or crack. Other wise, it is strong and long lasting.
Vinyl product requires a limited amount of maintenance. As with all exterior products, our fencing can become dirty when exposed to the elements. A mild detergent and water should be sufficient to keep your fence or railings looking new. Under normal conditions this maintenance is in the form of washing the fence to keep it looking new. For tough stains you can use a “Soft Scrub” or "baking soda" to the effected area with a little bit of elbow work should do the job. Simple Green and 0000 steel wool (super fine) also works to clean the stubborn stains.
Although not classified as graffiti proof, vinyl fencing is fairly easy to clean and most graffiti comes off with just a little effort. Often, the graffiti can be removed with “Simple Green” detergent and a soft cloth. In more severe cases, you can use 0000 steel wool (super fine) either by itself or with Simple Green or, in extreme cases, use lacquer thinner and dry quickly with a soft cloth.
Our Installation
No matter how good the material is, it would mean nothing without professional and proper installation. We take pride in going the extra steps that most contractors normally does not do in the industry. We want to give you a peace of mind that your project is long standing with little to no maintenance. We want to go out of our way and do things that are above the minimum California requirements for fence installation by code. For example, a crucial step in maintaining your fence durability, we prefer to fill hollow posts with 20%-40% concrete depending on the project. Please beware of some companies who will make you believe that it's not necessary to fill the post with concrete and give you many reasons to why it would be bad for your fence. This is another way to cut corners and save on labor and material. We approach each job as if it was our own and prefer not to cut corners to save on cost.
Did you know big chain fence companies installers are paid by the job. The installers has no choice but to install your fence in an expedited way so they can move on to the next job. Often time, expedited installation will result to inappropriate assembly and miss many crucial details. Our installers get paid by the hour; so they can take the necessary time require to complete all the details. At the end of each job site, we always make sure the work area is absolutely clean.
Our Process And How It Works
We like to make your shopping process as easy and enjoyable as possible. Everything starts with our
Free In-Home or Office Visit Consultation.
You can also call us at (310) 556-1424 or visit our showroom, conveniently located in Torrance off Hawthorne and Lomita Blvd at 3300 Kashiwa St, Torrance, CA 90505.
Once you receive the quote from us and when you are ready, we require 2 signed documents (A signed contract and a signed terms and conditions) and a 10% deposit to move forward with your project. Once we receive all the required documents and deposit, one of our office clerk will call you to schedule a final measurement for fabrication. Depending on how big or small your project is after the completion of fabrication (this step is for all projects that are 2 days or more), we require another 50% of the remaining balance on the first day of the install and the rest at the end of installation.
For projects that takes more than 2 days, we prefer to start them at the beginning of the week because we do not have our installers working over the weekends. We want to eliminate as much days as possible for any property that maybe exposed.
When replacing your existing fence, we usually remove as much as we can install in one day. In some cases, we may have to remove the entire old fence line and the property maybe exposed over night with a temporary Safety Fence. However, we cannot guarantee any safety with this temporary fence.
Once the project is completed, we highly recommend all of our customers to do a walk through with our foreman onsite to make sure we meet all of your expectation before we collect the last payment, which is due the same day.

Why our prices are the lowest?
Our prices are not low, they're not overpriced like others. Our concept of offering low prices for outdoor building VINYL materials is a big game changer in the VINYL FENCING industry. Good vinyl is an excellent outdoor building material, but it's not gold. It should be more affordable for any homeowner in southern California. We know many homeowners have to put their dreams of having a "beautiful outdoor living space" aside due to extremely high prices.
Our family has started this business having one thing in mind, more affordable prices by using high quality materials ONLY, excellent customer service, and finally 100% professional assembly.
The first step to cutting big overhead is by partnering with a professional vinyl fence manufacturer and have your own fabrication shop. We then place an order with your jobs specification, and they manufacture the fence per our standard. After quality inspection, they carefully wrap it with plastic and deliver to us in no time. Not only does this cut down the overhead by about 60% but also expedites the overall process, which in turn allows us to complete your projects much quicker.
The second step towards your saving is, we do not have any sales rep, in which they would add another 7-15% extra on top of retail value. So your cost is automatically increased.
By choosing Torrance Fence Company business model, we can dedicate all our time and effort to our installation, customer consultations, offer you the same vinyl materials as many industry leaders use and with better installations for about 30%-50% less than what you would normally pay.
